Steve-MartinTo our younger readers and followers you may not be familiar with “our guy” this week. He was popular in the late 70’s to the 90’s and made some appearances in the new millennium. Steve Martin is a pure legend and that is why he is my guy for the week.

To say this guy has been in showbiz since the 50s isn’t a far stretch. He started selling programs at this new place called Disneyland in 1955 in Burbank, California and worked his way up to becoming a Magician on Disneyland’s Mainstreet shops. He then went to college, did his thing, and realized that it wasn’t for him and became a stand up comedian, something we all wish we did. Through the late 60’s and early 70’s he was nailing it on all late night shows with his stand up comedy schtick. You know what this isn’t is a post paraphasing his Wikipedia page, so enough with the histroical background. He is an actor, comedian, and coolest of all he plays the mother fuckin BANJO. YES THE BANJO.

If that doesn’t make him worthy of a drink with you this may: At the age of 67, he fathered his first child. That needs no explanation and/or praise…just a simple slow clap.

Cool Runnings Slow ClapHey Steve, I know you are on Twitter so if you some how read this, I’d like to grab a drink with you and shoot the breeze with you. Thanks for making this world a little bit more fun
