Walmart AKA LOVEmart

WamartWIS News – Maybe it’s the everyday low prices or a shared glance in the check-out line.

If you’re looking for love in all the wrong places, it turns out a Walmart Super Center might be the right place.

In 15 states, more people thought they saw their future spouse at a Walmart than anywhere else, according to a new study by Psychology Today.

Researchers studied “missed connections” on Craigslist. They discovered Walmart is the most popular place for people to find love at first sight.

Can’t say I’m one bit surprised here because well think about it. Walmart is one of the most popular stores/entities in all of the USofA and they offer very cheap deals throughout an array of items. Why do people use Craigslist? They want to find discounts as well.

Also, if you shop at Walmart you are pretty much middle America and don’t live in a cosmopolitan city like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago or Miami where the dating scene is on point (so they say, #single). In the words of Jeff Foxworthy, if you shop at Walmart you’re a redneck. But I’m going to take Jeff’s comments and remix it for 2013.

If you shop at Walmart, then use missed connections on Craigslist to find your cousin, you must be a redneck.

The study also says not all connections occur at Walmart.

In New York, the subway is frequently cited for making connections. And in California, it’s the gym.
