I came across this a few days ago and immediately thought that these guys need to be recognized for stepping up big time for their fans. Below is the details of what they’re doing and what the cause is supporting:

Autographed Fender Mark Hoppus Model Jazz Bass Guitar Donated by Mark Hoppus himself and signed by all of Blink-182 (Mark Hoppus, Tom Delonge and Travis Barker)to benefit Matt (@sucittaM) and his wife Danielle’s rehabilitation from a brain injury sustained in January.

On January 30th Danielle suffered a cerebral arteriovenous malformation (AVM) rupture. She was immediately taken to the UI hospital for neurosurgery to relieve pressure to her brain and stop blood flow to the AVM. Danielle has started to make great strides but she has a lengthy recovery process ahead.

This is a great opportunity to donate to a great cause as well as own a fantastic piece of music memorabilia.

As an added bonus, Mark Hoppus has agreed to do a personal Google+ Hangout with the winning bidder to say thank you.

Click here to visit the page and bid.

So Mark Hoppus donated one of his basses and had the band sign it to auction on eBay to raise money for Danielle’s condition. Can’t say I’ve listened to Blink-182 since about 6th grade but regardless, this is pretty awesome of them to do this. It literally probably took them all of 1 minute to each sign the bass and have someone ship it out but will help IMMENSELY in Danielle’s recovery process.

So good on you guys. I’m sure Matt and Danielle will be extremely grateful to you guys and whatever individual willingly overpays to support a great cause.
