Blackhawks Coyotes

We’re now have 3 weeks in the books and guess who still doesn’t hasn’t lost in regulation? That’s right, the Chicago Blackhawks. I’m convinced they’ll just never lose in regulation this season. It’s unreal. Patrick Kane had a helluva week with 5 goals. It’s been a team effort in Chicago with everyone getting in on the action.

The Ducks have been making some noise as well. Lossless in February, the Ducks owe that in a big way to Viktor Fasth. Going back to February 1st, Fasth has allowed just 3 goals in 3 appearances, making for 3 wins and a .969 save percentage in those games.

The Penguins also found their way and jumped to the top of the Eastern Conference by winning their last 5 games. Everyone seems to have finally shaken the cobwebs and gotten back to their normal form. Sydney Crosby is back to his old self, lighting up the league with 10 points this week.

Another point in NHL news was the surprise trade of Tim Thomas to the New York Islanders. Thomas, who is voluntarily sitting out this season will have one year left on his contract next year. The Islanders gave up a conditional 2nd round draft pick in 2014 or 2015, but may not give up a thing if Thomas never suits up in blue and orange. Lots of people saying it was solely done for the Islanders to hit the cap floor of $44.6 million.

Three Stars of the Week:

3. Vikto Fasth: 3 GP (came in for Jonas Hiller on the 8th), 3 GA, 67 saves on 69 save attempts, .971 SV%

2. Patrick Kane: 3 GP, 5G, 2A, 7PTS

1. Sydney Crosby: 4 GP, 2G, 8A, 10PTS
