I re-watched Dirty Work and Tommy Boy these past couple of days and I shit myself laughing the whooooole time. I haven’t seen Dirty Work in forever, and I forgot most of it. Hell, I even forgot that the girl from “Two Guys, A Girl and a Pizza Place” in it (completely forgot about that TV show, but I’ll save that for a later post).
As For Tommy Boy, its a classic and might be one of the funniest movies ever made. The whole motel scene gets me every time.
(Who’s your favorite Little Rascal? Is it Alfalfa? Or is it….Spanky?…Sinner)
Comedians today have nothing on Farley. His legacy still lives on from his Saturday Night Live characters. Farley absolutely nailed every movie he was in from Wayne’s World to Dirty Work; Have you ever seen Almost Heroes? Matthew Perry is a certified cock-sucker, but him and Chris Farley made a dynamic duo in it!
So watching this made me ponder. What if Chris Farley was still around today? Would movies be funnier? I mean, ever since 2000, there have been some quality comedies: Old School, Zoolander, The Hangover, Big Daddy, Mr Deeds, 40 Year Old Virgin, Meet the Parents, Knocked Up, Clerks II, Step Brothers, Anchorman and many, many more. Don’t get me wrong, Will Ferrell, Steve Carrell, Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller are hilarious, Chris Farley brought another element of hilarity that Hollywood still hasn’t been able to reproduce.
But what if Farley was thrown into the mix of those movies? Would it be funnier? Fuck yea, for sure I think so. Imagine Farley as a 40 year-old Virgin? or Farley as a middle aged pledge in Old School? Fuck!
Too bad he had zero self-control of his vices. I mean, cocaine is a hell of a drug, but it was a shame how he felt the need to do that to feel better about himself. The guy literally was neck deep in strippers, alcohol and coke, and enough years of it came and back fired on him.
