In PETA's defense, Beyoncé really should have worn less snake/iguana skin.

In PETA’s defense, Beyoncé really should have worn less snake/iguana skin ;).

Examiner – If PETA slams Beyoncé for her Super Bowl 2013 performance, some animals must have been violated. The activist group is in an uproar over her costume choice during Sunday’s halftime show performance which featured a combination of the skin of two different reptiles.

According to a report from Star Pulse on Feb. 5, the singer’s black bodysuit was made from python and iguana skin and leather. That got the attention of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) group. A spokesperson said of the outfit worn by the singer:

“We would take a bet that if Beyonce watched our video exposes, she’d probably not want to be seen again in anything made of snakes, lizards, rabbits or other animals who died painfully. Today’s fashions are trending toward humane vegan options, and Beyonce’s Super Bowl outfit missed the mark on that score.”

Warning: I’m about to go on a rant. Feel free to continue. You’ve been warned.

Is there anything PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) members don’t get their panties all bunched up about? First of all, Beyoncé was doing everyone a favor by wearing snake skin shit. Snakes are the worst creatures on earth, so that’s however many less snakes we have to worry about. Secondly, what if these animals legit just died from being old or something? Can they still get mad? Like if a cow died from being old, would they still be mad if we ate it and made shoes out of it?

And while we’re here, lets make something clear that not many people are aware of. PETA, remember that’s People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, brought in 1,958 animals in 2012 (this includes dogs, cats, “other companion animals,” and poultry, as well as wild animals). Of the 1,958, 1,747 were killed (that’s 89.2% for those keeping score at home). They say euthanized but I guess whatever makes them feel better.

So again, that brings up the same question: if I “euthanized” a cow, harvested its meat and hide, what would be the problem with that? I like to think humans are part of nature. Do PETA members get mad at vultures for eating a decaying animal?

Also, they say if people, specifically Beyoncé, watched their cute little video exposes that she or anyone else wouldn’t wear anything made of animals who were killed painfully. Last time I checked, animals can’t talk, so how they know if they’re in pain or not is beyond me. Bunch of fucking snake whisperers over there in Virginia. That’s like the people who say “watch Super Size Me and you’ll never eat fast food again!” Yeah, I’ve seen it. It only made me more hungry.

In short, people need to stop being pussies. If you don’t eat meat or wear animal products, great. But myself and mankind have been doing it for thousands of years. Shut the fuck up, you’re in the minority.
