Gloves4Troops – Welcome to Gloves 4 Troops!  Gloves 4 Troops is aiming to send away 1,000 baseball gloves to troops before the start of Spring Training, 2013.  Recently, I was reading an article on our troops based in Afghanistan.  I was intrigued to hear the response of one soldier when asked the question, “What would you like people back home to send you?” “Baseball gloves and a baseball,” he said.  “So much of our tasks are hurry up and go, followed by waiting.” The decision was made shortly after that: 1,000 gloves to U.S. troops around the world.  More than anything, they’ll know we’re thinking about them.  Let’s make it happen.

Vance Albitz is doing something truly amazing. He is trying to collect baseballs and gloves for those brave men and women stationed around the world defending our freedom. Vance Albitz is the Triple-A shortstop for the Springfield Cardinals.

“Gloves 4 Troops” (#Gloves4Troops) is a volunteer effort organized by Albitz, an infielder with the Springfield Cardinals, who has already collected over 200 gloves.  Fans can learn more at Gloves4Troops.com. They are trying to collect 1000 gloves before the start of Spring training which is 26 days away. So help out some BRAVE people be able to spend their down time in a GREAT way.
