Fox News – A north Georgia man who handcuffed himself to a female Taco Bell co-worker has been sentenced to serve four years in prison.
The Rome News-Tribune reports that 25-year-old Jason Earl Dean of Dalton handcuffed himself to the 18-year-old woman in August 2011 in an attempt to convince her to go on a date with him.
Dean waited until the end of her shift and handcuffed himself to her wrist, the Times Free Press reported. This was after Dean made attempts to go out with the woman for several weeks and the restaurant changed her shift so she could avoid him, the paper reported.
Lookout Mountain Assistant District Attorney Alan Norton says a Catoosa County Superior Court judge sentence Dean to four years in prison followed by six years on probation.
Norton says Dean is also not allowed to have any contact with the victim or her family.
I’m so torn on this one. I want to root for Jason Earl Dean but I don’t know if I can here.
I mean, there is nothing worse than having your dream girl be so close to you at all times but so far from you. Everyday he has to go in there knowing she’s there and knowing he’s been shut down numerous times.
Worst part? You KNOW she probably friend zoned the SHIT out of him. He thought he was getting closer and closer to his dream date, but really was getting closer and closer to her BFF.
Also, isn’t this sentencing a little intense? Four years followed by six years of probation? Jesus, I don’t think pedophiles even go to the slammer for that long. Handcuffing someone against their will to you must be a serious crime in Rome, Georgia.
Sidenote – I would love to see a picture of this girl. Had to be an absolute smokebomb if someone got shut down by them, got shut down a few more times, then handcuffed himself to her.
