BCS Championship: The Irish’s Luck Runs Out

Quarterback: C

Threw for more yards than McCarren yet tons of interceptions. He encountered a great defense. He will mature from this.

Running Backs: F

They couldn’t do a thing, they were nonexistent. What was their strength all year long became their weakness in the BCS game.

Wide Receivers: B+

The shining spot of a luster game.  DaVaris Daniels had a great game and will be a great tandem with Golson next year. TJ Jones played great as well. Solid building blocks for 2013.

Tight Ends: B

The most consistent thing other than the sun rising is Tyler Eifert being double teamed and beating his defenders. He had a hell of a game.

Offensive Line: D

‘Bama is physical and quick.  Only so much you can do in the film room and on the field to stop them.

Defensive Line: D

Can’t play 2/3 of the game and expect to be fresh especially against Alabama. They got tired and lost their quick steps.

Linebackers: D

What was the defense bread and butter became their poisoned pills. They missed tackle after tackle. Sad way for this group to go out.

Defensive Backs: C

No turnovers but played leaps and bounds better than the rest of the defense.

Special Teams: C+

I should just call this Punting and returning kickoffs grade.

Coaching: D

Coach Kelly’s luck ran out. Nick Saban is GOOD and smart too.

  1. Tim Shey says:

That was quite a victory by Alabama. I am sure that Notre Dame will keep improving.

“Was the Alabama Victory over Notre Dame Prophetic?”
