Mashable – What’s the secret to brewing the best-tasting hot cocoa in town? Serving it in an orange mug, apparently.
A new report, conducted by researchers at Polytechnic University of Valencia and Oxford University, concluded that orange-colored cups enhance the perception of its contents.
The study, which looked at 57 participants, served the same hot chocolate samples in four differently colored cups — white, red, cream and orange. The majority of the participants preferred the cocoa served in the orange and cream-colored mugs, Live Science reported.
Ex-squeeze me? Baking powder? Whose job is it to decide what studies they’ll be conducting that day? Someone literally gets paid money, dollar bills, quiche, to sit at their desk and come up with these ideas. Absolutely mind boggling.
And why 57 participants? Couldn’t make that an even 60? Maybe even 50? What kind of people are you getting for these? My guess is 5 to 7 year olds. Why? Because what grown ass adult is drinking hot chocolate? None. Well at least no one with a real job is.
If I even did some sort of blind taste test, I’m 100% going in there with the mentality that EVERYTHING is some sort of trick or placebo. Isn’t that all that these are? (Jesus, how many questions can I ask in this?… and there’s another for ya.)
Call me crazy but I don’t believe it. Gold jacket, green jacket, blue cup, orange cup…who gives a shit. I drink my coffee out of a fucking paper cup every morning. You think if I throw it in an orange mug it will taste better? Nope. Still shitty Keurig coffee.
