Every year this debate will come up. It’s time we nip this one in the butt and settle the argument that has been plaguing Christmas season since 2000: The animated, original vs. the live-action, Jim Carrey version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

Now, I’ve always leaned on the side of the classics. The animated version is basically a Christmas classic. However, I also enjoy a solid remake or newer movies like Elf, Polar Express, etc.

When the live-action version first came out, I refused to watch it. Basically thought it was blasphemy. However, I slowly came around to it and will watch it when it’s on. Not my favorite but it gets the job done as a solid Christmas movie.

The animated one though is a must every year. It’s quick and just a top notch flick. This is Tivo worthy where the Jim Carrey one is not.

Overall, I’m going with 75%:25: animated to live. Just takes the cake in terms of better movie.

Lets hear it. Which version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas is better?
