Quaterback: C

Tommy Rees got the start against the Cougars due to Everett Golson’s concussed symptoms.  He had an excellent first quarter and then played TERRIBLE in the second and third quarter.  As for the fourth?  He did his job, he managed the game all while the running game did their thing.

**Golson has a physical exam for clearance to play against Oklahoma on Monday morning, Alex Flanagan went interviewing Coach Kelly “Everett with start against Oklahoma**

Running Backs: A+

Theo Riddick was playing as if he the draft was happening on Sunday night.  15 carries with 149 yards but no touchdown on the day.  Cierre Wood added another 114 yards.  The Irish put up 270 rushing yards on the third ranked run defense.  Great news heading into the contest in Norman, OK.

Receivers: B

They were OKAY.  Eifert and Jones really are becoming a dynamic duo for the Irish.  They are creating gaps for the QB and coverage confusion.  119 yards total receiving against the Cougars needs to improve if the Irish want to leave Oklahoma 8-0.

Offensive Line: C+

The Penalties killed them and they NEED to tighten it up for the rest of the season.  What is with Golic?  Why is that guy so prone to flags?

Defesnive Line: B+

Great job by the line in holding off the run.  BYU only put up 66 yards on the ground.  The D-Line was a big part of that

Linebackers: A+

Manti T’eo had another interception this week.  He does not give up an inch to the opponent and it is rubbing off with his teammates.  Heisman watch is well deserved at this moment.

Special Teams: D

It was not the worst weather in South Bend, IN.  You know the HOME of Notre Dame Football!  Two missed field goals is not OKAY.  Brindza needs to be on the field this week practicing kicking for every plausible scenario.  He needs to do this while blasting fan noise or something he does not like listening to.  Time to get strong.

Coaching: B

A win is a win but it could have been a lot easier of a win.

Onward to Norman, Oklahoma for primetime contest against the Sooners.  ESPN’s College GameDay will be on hand.  You won’t want to miss this game!  Check local listings.
